So I just looked over the song list of Justin Timberlake's new cd and he has a song featuring three 6 mafia [the group where people say are devil worshippers hence the three 6 [666]}
RnB artists need to stop. Someone needs to tell them to stop this ridiculousness once and for all. If you are going to have a rapper in your song, atleast have a "decent" [and I use this word loosely] "rapper" [I also use this word loosely].
The following are people [I refuse to call them rappers or artists anymore] are in your CD and you call yourself an RnB artist.... SHAME ON YOU!
Dem Franchise Boys
Three Six Mafia
D4L
Paul Wall
Ying Yang Twins
50 Cent
Lil' Wayne - Sorry Makanga... I have to!
Yung Joc
The dude who sang "chain hang low" and the other one who sang "shoulder lean"
Khia
Trina
I could go on and on with Mike Jones and Chingy and all of them but I am getting pissed off with every single tap of this keyboard..... so please... feel free to add any of the other ludicrous people who should not..... by any circumstance, feature in an RnB album.
I listened to his CD [The Evolution of Robin Thicke] this past weekend. It was a good CD but it brought out the question:
Why is it that all RnB artists feel that they should have a song with a rapper in the CD? And then when they do, they feature some wack ass rapper.
[Jon B featured Tupac in Are you still down?... Can't hate on my two baby daddies]
If I was asked, I would have given this CD 5 stars were it not for the three songs that were featuring some wack ass rapper [Lil' Wayne and Pharrell]. Actually, I take that 5 stars back. I would have given it 4 but due to Shooter and Wanna Love you Girl and the other one song that I forwarded that featured Lil Wayne, I give it a three. I love love love Lost without you. Now if they stopped giving it so much airplay ....... coz you know what happens when they give a song too much airplay. It get annoying.... Here is the video.
That being said, I also gave Omarion's 21 a listen. He featured 50 pennies cent in one of his songs. I refuse to listen to the CD EVER again.
Ladies and gentlemen, This is Keke Palmer who in my opinion is going to become a good adult actor if she gets nurtured and gets good roles.
We all know that they hail Dakota Fanning as the best young actor ever but sometimes I feel that she does roles that are way beyond her age. Maybe I am being too harsh and dont get me wrong, I love Dakota in I am Sam, Man on Fire et al but anywho, I digress.
I first caught a glimpse of Ms Palmer in The Wool Cap, a made for TV movie with William Macy. I loved her.
And only recently, I got to watch Akeelah and the Bee. And I would like to add it as a good movie for 2006 along with those on my list.
He is so unfortunate looking but he is making some serious money and I cant hate on that. I just wish he would stop dancing. PLEASE NE-YO..... stop it.YOU C-A-N-N-O-T dance!
So Msanii hooked me up with this CD.... and I must say, I kinda sorta enjoyed it. It was ok. I think he could have done better seeing as he is a writer and all. I dont need to hear about him sexing godknowswhowherewhat in half of the songs......I mean seriously, that is unnecessary ... I think that there can be more substance in his music. Room for improvement.... and please DO NOT release any more singles. Im tired!!!!
I think people arre hyping him up saying that he is bringing RnB back but really, he is not, once you listen to the lyrics. Stay is my fav'est song......
The number of times I had been told that this movie was a fvcking classic...... I cant count. All I can say is that, I made it a point to see it to see what the whole hullabaloo was about.
And I did.
And it was HILARIOUS!
I wont say that it was a CLASSIC..... but it was a well done, well acted, well scripted movie.
Definite must see.
Classic? I think not
Oh! I watched Open Season. Dont watch it unless you have nothing better to do. Or maybe if you are taking a child. NOthing special about it at all! N-O-T-H-I-N-G!
I have so many things to review and I keep postponing my "Last King of Scotland" rant. All in good time. I think I am caught up with class enough to do it this week. But first, I have to talk about Shusic and before I even get into that, let me talk about CD Baby My shopping experience there was just too entertaining. After I bought the CD, they sent me an email:
Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.
A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure it was in the best possible condition before mailing.
Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money can buy.
We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of Portland waved 'Bon Voyage!' to your package, on its way to you, in our private CD Baby jet on this day, Wednesday, September 27th.
I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby. We sure did. Your picture is on our wall as 'Customer of the Year'. We're all exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!!
To say that I was tickled would be an understatement. When I received the package, it had even funnier stuff written on the receipt. I just love that marketing gimmick.
ANYWHO, back to the CD. I give it an 8. Why not a 10? Well, lets take "So Damn Fine"... lyrics include: Those long limbs are just so long...... I rest my case! I also did not feel Can I take U home tonite.
I have mad respect for the man. My fav song is Amor. I like Call Your Name as well.
